Hello everyone
I am from Pakistan and i am planning to start preparing for Step 1 , The time i have is 6-7 months , so kindly help me regading my planning and strategies coz it seems as if it is quite tricky  i'll be waiting ....

Hi fareeha! I just started my prep for step 1 and I have same amount of time you have.I am reviewing the three major P (physiology,pathology and pharmacology) on BRS Pathology,BRS Phisiology and Lippincott's Pharmacology while doing questions on Pretest step I and I will do Kaplan too soon.I have High Yeld Behavioral Sciences that I find quite good for review and a couple of Made ridiculously simple books for anatomy,micro ( but they are quite poor on information, they are just for a quick review and they are fine if you did well and remember a lot of anatomy,neuroanatomy!). A must you should have is First Aid step 1 2003,that can help you focusing on major topics and has good advice for internet prep too.Browse through forums,they have a lot of good informations. I use Step I made ridiculously simple(good for charts) when I am on call and I can't stick to other books and when I get home I go and look at things I reviewed on that book. For Biochem I am still waiting to see the best book to review on and I think that it will be one of the last subjects I review because I need to focus more on it.

ASA! fareeha its so nice to see someone from ur country!! my name is mariam & im in usa right now ...im also preparing for step ! planning to take test in sept!! INSHAALLH!! i didnot know about this forum & i registerd just now i hope it will help me..........do contact me on my email add if u have ques...& i forgot to tell u...i recently graduated from QAMC bahawalpur!! so what about u??????????

asa, how are u, good that u started and i planning to take it in sept, so how is it going it with u, are u talking kaplan, if not u should ull get through
ur subs fast and itll get u in the rythm and urll stay motivated. so if any info or wanna discuss something, i d be glad too and im sure it help us. by the way my name is sohail......ahall hafiz

aslam fareena how u doing, what yr resideny u planning for, anyway u got plenty of time for step 1. well the best way is join kaplan, are u in the united states right now or pak. if ur not taking kaplan id say do ur easy stuff first like anat. then maybe do bio and physio. and then patho.. are u the person who can study at home or do u need to sonstantly motivated.
if not get in to group, go with the flow policy for u. that works for me.

THANK U EVERY ONE , I HOPE U GUYS KEEP ON GUIDING ME. NOW A DAYS I AM DOING PATHO FROM BRS , AND OFCOURSE STUDYING IT WITH FA-2003 , BY THE WAY , I AM IN PAKISTAN , QUIT THE JOB SO THAT COULD CONCENTRATE . SO FOR PATHO, ANYTHING ELSE NEEDED OR WITH WEBPATH SLIDES , ITS ENOUGH ?

sory i am responding a bit late. so where are u right now, I am in Pakistan , and as i told u have started preparing for step1, have gone through patho from BRS and physion from BRS and kaplan , Pharma, i read from Kaplan and as;olooked into lippincott, although i wonder whow will i master those grapha that come in exam :?: anyway, have started reading Biochem and genetics from kaplannotes and HY molecular biology . so do reply and tell me what u're doing . man ! i need a lot of motivation

Salaam......motivation.....yesssss..... :cry: ...I need it toooo.....well for step 1...I had started with the smaller subjects...namely Behavioral Science and Histo/anatomy....diif. ppl say diff. stuff about which subjects are most hard hit......it is always good to remember though.....Patho Patho Patho!!!!......and when Patho comes to mind....it's GOLJAN GOLJAN GOLJAN!!!!.....I don't even want to talk about our scores ...it might be encouraging for some but discouraging for others...anyways.....it's either Kaplan or BRS.....never both together....no matter how much time you have...it's going to be overkill.......and did I mention Patho!!!!....60% of the exam.....I went for the live lectures in NY...and they gave us two volumes of Goljan's notes.....worth the price of GOLD!!!! :shock: ....okay this reply is getting a bit too long.....good luck ...salaam!!!!

This is asma,I have read your advice to fareeha.
Well iam also planning to give step 1 in april 2004.
How did you find BRS physiology?
I have only kaplan notes and Q bank.
Is it really essential for physiology.
For pathology,my friends adviced me to buy goljan
If you could avice me,i would be thankful..
