Demented elderly man with generalized edema, no fever, normal blood pressure Blood sample show Creatinine = 2mg/dl, BUN = 65mg/dl Which is the diagnosis ? A. Acute tubular necrosis B. Congestive haert failure C. Low protein intake D. Prostatic hyperplasia E. Severe liver disease

E- severe liver disease ???????????? is it pointing towards hepato-renal syndrome?

The answer is D BUN / creatinine > 30 :arrow: It is pre-renal or post -renal failure In pure pre-renal failure, creatinine is normal, post-renal failure creatinine is elevated I have confusion of this, Any one has a mnemonic for this bug ?

well creatinine increases either it is prerenal,renal or postrenal..... it correlates with GFR....
