Does anyone have any idea what it is? (Something to do with epitopes and antibodies?)

  #2

It is a precipitation between Soluble antigen & soluble antibody  at optimal concentration  Lattice structure

Radial immunidiffusion: putting patient serum into the well & Anti_human IgG into an agar medium  Measure the radius of the zone of precipitation

It is excellent test for quantitation level of IgG, IgM, IgA, but not for IgD, IgE

IgD, IgE at the very small level  can be detected by ELISA or Radioimmunoassay whic are more sensitive tests

thanks for the description phulong, can u pls tell me how to interpret the results of this immunodiffusion though? For example by the lattice structure, how would I identify which antigens have produced specific antibodies or not, im stumped up on this question from Qbook, micro test #1
