Hi
I need advise what to do now.
I was so excited when I saw thru oasis that I passed (it was my second attempt, was 170/70). But my happiness was short lived when I got my score. I barely passed!!!! (I was getting 68-70 in kaplan and 73 in USMLE cd) Had done BRS, FA,High yeild in Anat and related subjects,genetics thru Kaplan, Goljan for patho,done almost 3000 q's. Was expecting at least 80%, not 76.
With a lot of new renouned resorces and a lot of hard work, just managed to raise my percentile from 70 to 76!
I feel very helpless. I don't know how to study for step 2. If I get a similar score on step 2, then is that the end of it???
They say you have to get at least 89-90, to overshadow this score, I don't know if I can do that.
I am NOT a recent graduate and that too complicates things.
Please help.

i know its not a good score but u can stil make it
study very hard for step 2 and make for it
ok may be u wont get a very good thing but u can
ok so dont loose hope remember he is up ther

..I was at a Kaplan seminar, and they told us that Step 2 scores are more important than Step 1..they said its better to get a low score on Step 1 and high on Step 2 than the opposite...so work hard, n kick ass on Step 2.. ...

Thank you firefly for this input. I am gathering my strenght and material to attack step 2. I will put my all to really kick it hard!!
By the way, can you tell me if taking kaplan would improve the scores, as Where I live, they don't offer live courses, just the video ones and the 30 visits ones. I am not sure what to do.

IndianDoc: I dont know how failing would affect your chances.
FF: Using Kaplan does help, I dont think it really makes a difference if you use the live or center prep. The advantage with the center prep is that you can watch the videos at your own pace, with live the advantage is they will cover all of the material in 6wks.
