Dear bbb, Hi!I have been told and also read in different places that if an IMG goes to do residency on a J1 visa then its easier for that individual to apply and get into a fellowship after his/her residency programme rather than an IMG who is on H1 visa sponsor. Can you explain how and why? From what I know a person on J1 needs to return to his/her home country after their training for a minimum of 2 years whereas someone on H1 visa doesn't have to.So logically speaking the person on J1 visa is at a disadvantage......then how is it easier for them to get a fellowship? Thank you for your input.
