Hi! My exam is on Monday, Jan 31 and I am shaking already... It seems to me I was much more confident a month ago. I did qbanc(76%), Blackwell(74%), and first NBME(570), most of them several weeks ago...and I feel I am getting nowhere. I forget the stuff I knew, I am nervous and sometimes I am getting scores below 70(Kaplan simulated). Strange...more reading and lower scores... I guess my intuition served me better than my new knowledge. Either that or I am really nervous. I am almost afraid to do my NBME2 - what if I get lower scores than a month ago  ... Quite discouraging. I guess I have to calm down somehow...thought that maybe writing all of this down would help. Lucky you who can do their best in your last week. Thanks for listening, and study hard!

Hi Almina, You can do it. I took my exam on Jan. 19th and went through many of the feelings that you are going through a week before my exam. I have a diary on the forum that describes how I felt a during my last week Jan 12-Jan 19th. I was a mess - curled up in my bed crying my eyeballs out. Many of my friends were distressed a week before the exam - some were feeling quite depressed after taking it. I know from experience that 99% of them passed - actually did quite well. Best thing to do is to encourage yourself in this last week and to do your best to be strong. You've already expressed your feelings to us on the forum - that is a good way to vent your anxiety. If it will help you to feel better, feel free to read the last week of my diary - Pinkangel's daily diary for encouragement. I also encourage you to post your exam date and wishes on my January exam prayer thread on this forum. My best wishes are with you. [-o< God bless, pinkangel

you will do fine. Your NBME score is good (same score I got actually), and you are doing well on Kaplan simulate. You will do fine. 1 month of extra studying will only help you. You will see. It is normal to feel this way before the test. And as pinkangel said, you probably won't feel good coming out of the test either. But rest assured that almost everyone feels that way. Trust in your NBME score. It really does correlate closely with step I. I actually did a little better on the real test than what the NBME said I would. Relax, try and sleep the night before your test, and good luck!

Thank you for your support and kind words, they really helped. I gave my exam yesterday, and it was different from what I expected. When I took NBME(second one several days ago with 630) I didn't have issues with time, but at the real exam I did, big time. This and also, the inability to concentrate to do my best. I am very glad it is over though. I know already I have done many stupid mistakes, stuff I knew. I am quite sure I can't expect a 99, so it remains to be seen what it will be. See you in step 2 forum(hopefully if I pass). And good luck!
