Does any of you know about the new changes of ECFMG?I heard that one needs to have CS 1 year before to apply for the match. Is that true?
In this case is it more convenient to do step 2 and CS and then step1?Thanks

You don't have to take CS 1 year before match. The new rules state that you can take CS withuot step I or II CK if you have been in med school for over 2 years. They recommend taking CS as early as possible to ensure results are available before the match. This is because they have limited the number of seats available at any time to IMGs, so scheduling may be tough. I don't know if you are aware of this, but what you may be hearing is that step II CS results are currently taking 6 months or more to come out. This was just because the test is new and they need to accumulate enough results of US and IMGs to decide where the pass/fail line is. Take these tests in any order you see fit. CS is not a hard test in terms of its clinical content. So don't stress about it. You just need to be able to do a good history and exam and come up with a reasonable differential.
