The vol. of plasma from which x is removed over a period of time.

Mathematically its:= excretion x/Px=Ux times V/Px
{uv/p: is too easy to say!!}

Q?-Arrange the folowing substances from the greatest clearance to the
least clearance:
glucose, sodium, potassium, PAH, inulin, protein,
creatinine, urea, bicarbonate, Pennicillin, mannitol

You got 2 out of 11.
Under normal circumstances protein is NOT cleared at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
{There is is negative charge on the filtering membrane that inhibits the filtering of protein}
Thus its not filtered, not excreted, not secreted, mathematically clearance is ZERO,{normal kidneys}

Is Manitol cleacrance the same as that of inulin ?

In fact, glucose in low concentration :arrow: it is reabsorbed totally :arrow: Clearance = 0, but in very high concentration :arrow: Saturation of glucose transporter :arrow: The clearance approaches that of Inulin
