a 7 week old boy is brought to the physician because of fever ,irritability, lethargy for 3 days. He has no vomiting, diarrhea or symptoms of URTI. He always seems hungry to his mother despite being fed 3 ounces of formula for every 3 hours. His mother also notes that he has many wet diapers throughout the day and night. He currently appears irritable. 37.8[100], 80/50, 150, 25. physical examination shows a sunken anterior fontanella. Mucous membranes are dry. There is tenting of the skin. Further examination shows no other abnormalities. Urinalysis is negative for glucose and protein.

I GUESS ITS 1 here. Not sure. What is the diagnosis?

Yeah right :lol: what is he got? Adrenocortical insuff?
I have to make wild guess ...so 1 or 2.

why, u guys r not thinking this case as diabetes insipidus? in that case answer is 'c'

ya right i feel its a case of diabetes insipidus

lower specific gravity it is 1.003 so the option is c
