my usmle scores are poor: Step1 87,Step2 80
Is there any chance for me to get into A program??
I accept any offer as long as it is a residency program.
please tell me HONESTLY.
does anyone know someone with similar situation get into a program??

Hi
I am an old graduate too.
I have 80 and 87,
I have done my PG in Pediatrics
I got a prematch, with H 1 !
So, you will most certainly get into a programme. If residency is the only criterion, apply to Family Medicine in NewYork, there seem to be the least competetion.
All the best

I KNOW SOMEONE WHO FAILED FIRST ATTEMPT AND RECEIVED 77 ON 2ND ATTEMPT IN WHO IS CURRENTLY IN IM RESIDENCY. MY FRIEND DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED. YOUR SCORES, ALTHOUGH NOT GREAT, ARE NOT BAD AT ALL.

You do stand a very good chance indeed.
Just make sure you cover as many unfilled programs as possible on a scramble day.

You also have to tailor your application as well as attitude for specialties you are applying for. Make sure you have separate PS for separate specialties.

Good luck!

Hi ijoshi
you go to any university hospital website.there are many research opportunities there.
I strongly suggest you finish your exam before doing your search.you will be very busy with doing research, dont have time to study.
thanks all for your replies.
hope more people share their SIMILAR expericene here with us .
