A 8yr old girl is brought to the physician in july for a well child examination. Her mother says her daughter is spending the summer at a nearby lake. Over the past 1 month she has had two episodes of painful sunburn despite her mother’s efforts, including SPF25 sun block just before she goes swimming and urging her to wear a hat and long sleeved garments. Child takes no meds.she has blond hair, blue eyes, fair complexion. The mother seeks advice to prevent further sunburn to her child.most appropriate recommendation? 1] prohibit swimming on cloudless days 2] apply the sunblock lotion 45mts before swimming 3] change to higher level SPF lotion 4] apply burrow’s solution compresses after each over exposure 5] daily use of antioxidant vitamin supplement 6] early treatment of any sun over exposure with topical corticosteroids
