I know its a thick book but I recommend CMDT (Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment). You dont have to read the entire book(since it also includes Ob/Gyn, Psych, Preventive Med, Infectious). It is easy to read through and really helps with "Next step" questions. I took Step 2 ck (and failed). I realized that a lot of the questions for IM were covered by this book. I heard that Kaplan IM is not complete in that you actually have to fill in some management for diseases (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying the book) but enhances the potential for Kaplan to make money (forcing you to enroll in its Live or Video Lectures.) Is that why you say kaplan is not good? Or is there another reason?
