Yes, program directors will find this out because according to the ACGME program requirements:
Resident Transfer 1. To determine the appropriate level of education for residents who are transferring from another reside ncy program, the program director must receive written verification of previous educational experiences and a statement regarding the performance evaluation of the transferring resident prior to their acceptance into the program. A program director is required to provide verification of residency education for residents who may leave the program prior to completion of their education. As for the ERAS documents, you would have to check with ERAS for that information. And even if you left a program, you are considered a transfer.
