hi, this is my 1st time here & i'm happy to join you all.i have received my step 1 results recently& now i intend going ahead with step 2.i read in a publication by ECFMG regarding taking STEP 2 CS as early as possible even if you plan to match for 2006.i know the exams can be taken in any sequence, what confuses me is the idea whether preparation for step 2 CS is tougher before taking step 2 CK or does it make no difference. i would be sincerely grateful for ur help :? thanx

I had initially intended on taking my CK first and then deal with the CS. But btwn the two I figured the CK would be more difficult, so I opted to knock out the CS so I could focus on the CK afterwards. I got my date about a week or so before my actual exam. I guess you could think preparing for the CK helps you for the CS, but in retrospect, I dont think it really matters. They test different things. I mean I guess I would be worried about not being able to look at the big picture if I took the CS soon after the CK...cause after the CK, you know too much about a certain symptom which is invoved in one system...I think it would take alot more effort to regain looking at symptoms on a multi system level...which is very much so what the CS tests. Only my opinion... Good Luck -2bmd
