I only sent one pic with my form 183, they already have my other credentials, but they never e-mailed me and said they needed another pic. guess one is ok? right?

yeah, i think its working for me to read everything slow word for word and absorb and internalize, i might take hamidi's advice and do some subjects in qbook. The thing is, if dont want to repeat the same questions later on when i really need it to assess and run the risk of memorizing the answers subconsciously.

Hey manolok,don't worry if u do UW for amonth,u'll be doing lots of qs--->covering lots of topics in that time.UW is not to evaluate urself but still u'll know if u r doing good bad or average.Also u can do usme cd or kaplan cd in the end.I am not intending to do it but ppl do ccssa form1 and 2, which is proved to be the best for evaluation.
Thanks for answering about pic.Last time I had sent 2, but today when I read instructions again ,I sent 1.Wat I undersatand is u send one with documents(which I don't need to now) and another with f183.Just wanted to double check with u guys.Thanks.Good luck :P

Hello everyone - just got my score today - its not a good co- relation with NBME at all for me but after the way I took the exam I'm glad I passed. I got 202/82.
In your experience will that get me consideration for Family Practice or Ob/Gyn? From what you've heard or learnt from others?

Thanks. I had decided this was what I wanted. In India I had done obs/gyn housejobs and liked it thats why I wondered about that.
I now have to really try hard in Step 2 and pull my mark up a little bit. I'm just so glad I don't have to read for step 1 again, thats all, I still get shivers about the exam - it was a BAAD experience!!

thats a decent score and dont be hard on yourself, I dont know but i think it was the time that we took it, you took it a day after me. It seemed like it was a hard week for a lot of people. Im just coming up with my own theories though. I still think that NBME is the best indicator. I was off by 7 points from my score from NBME form 2. So there it is. Well, Im not going to pry about your visa status but let me tell you that a classmate of mine pre-matched for family medicine with scores of 75/77 this year. So, I think you'll be more than good to go if you dont have any problems with needing a J-1 visa.
How's the step 2 studying coming along?

I guess NBME is good if u take the exam under the same conditions u take NBME. You know what happened, so probably circumstances had their effect. C'est la vie.
I'm an IMG but a Canadian citizen so am not sure if the J-1 visa applies - have to find out.
I actually think your plan is pretty good and am thinking of following it. I started ob/gyn, jumped to pysch but am just not settling down into a routine again. So perhaps I shud do what you did and start with Peds. it has all the congenital stuff and may be easier to process in the beginning becos of Step 1 biochem.

You are right. Also its also true we have more question resources with this step then the previous one. So doing some form of q's now should not deplete the supply.
Thanks Hamidi, although I have my ups and downs, trust me!
I have been very low for the past 3-4 days, but trying to snap out of it.
Started Gynae today, hope to retain something with this attitude!!!!
For the form 183, well I did send 2 pics, they gave me 2 at walgreens so I sent them both,why save one!! who knows what will happen!

Hi FH, I have finished my psych and today started paeds.I don't seem to retain anything.But at least I am studying.It is a constant struggle ](*,) .I am hopeful w'll all do it :lol:

i have a friend in the same boat. actually two friends, canadian citizens that i studied with in manila. and... guess what... they got the same score as you in step 1. They are applying to programs in the US. And i know another girl that signed a pre-match contract last week. she's from Toronto. So, good news for you!!
How's the studying guys? Done with ID, hittin nephro!!! I HATE nephro, actually want to skip to neuro (more interesting). But ill do what i hate first
its only 25 pages anyway

Hamidi, I think the best way to ease this tension is to call ecfmg's customer service. I always do that whenever I have a question. They are pretty good at helping. Good luck!!

hey guys, thanks FH for your words of cinfidence. If anything we should all be support for each other, like hamidi said (paraphrased) too get us through this ardous process.
I decide to read neuro instead. I saw that there were problems in nephro and just didnt want to deal. It would have probably slowed me down more. I just hope im retaining all this. Im trying to read everything word for word and not let any nuance slip by. Im no OC guys so dont think that. Im a king slacker.
Decided today that I may take CS before CK, have already applied and waiting for confirmation. I know the results take awhile and I dont want to be shit otta luck if i fail and not have enough time to retake that exam
What about all you guys??? whats the plan???

I'm sticking to Kaplan, its better to know one book backwards than a little from every book. Besides as Hamidi sez - you'l probably fill in the gaps with the q's anyway.
That really is good progress Manolok - wow, good going!!
I'm hoping to take the Step 2 by end June and CS in early August - that shud get the rsults in by october - probably OK timing wise?

I read from a couple different posts that sx kaplan is too thin, and people suggested blueprints. I dont want to be all over the place but i think i may read it time permitting. Do you have BP's? also someone said sx isnt that HY anyway? what do you all think????

hi guys,
I have all kinds of BP. I intended to do those until I actually did Surgery right after my exam!! To my horror it is nothing but good anatomy!!
So when I did get a chance to look at Kaplan books , I found that they are better. In fact , at least for Surgery. So here am if you have already done surgery from Kaplan, good for you, move on. Don't waste time on BP. With other subjects its give and take from both books, depends on your personal style and taste. I had started Gynae from BP, Enjoyed what I read , about 8 chapters, but once I put the book down, I couldn't retain anything. Kaplan has a way of making you retain. The only drawback I have found is the lack of diagrams or any pictures. So if you do have BP, then keep them for referance with Kaplan being the main.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks FH ,for sharng ur thoughts.I feel kaplan has it's own deficencies esp if u havn't done S1 already u cannot get the info from one liners.U gave a good point about lack of pics ,I never thought of that.Thanks. But still over all I like it.It is the best way to study for ppl like us who have million responsibilities and then they take time out to study in between.Let's just all keep studying and keep praying for God's help.

Hi friends ,I feel so miserable today.Could not study a single minute in last 3 days.Now it feels like I have lost my tempo.We had some work done in our backyard ,so we were busy with that.It turned out beautiful  .Goosh! it was so much fun.I hate studying.Why did I decide to go back to studying.I had a good life with my family at home. :cry:Why o why do I have to study ??<:nope:> ](*,) :cry:
