hi everybody,
i have recently started preparing for my step 2 CK after getting my step 1 results.
I would like to start a study group right now with those who like me have just started with their step 2 CK studies so that we can share info on books, topics and questions.

Here's advice: review disorders due to physical agents in CMDT (if you have one). It is an easy read (20 pages). It was tested in my exam (around 10 questions, hey everything helps you know?)

  #8

Hi! I'd like to join the study group too. I have recently started studying for step 2 and intend to take it in May. I am currently doing Gynae.

  #9

Do you have a schedule? A friend and I are both studying for Step 2 and we're planning on following Kaplan notes. We also have the blueprints but were told to use them as adjuncts only. Oh yes and FA as well.

  #10

Hi, I am planning to appear for step 2 in March 05. If you are in a similar situation, and looking for a study partner(online or phone), please email me at snehadr_05@yahoo.com - Sneha

I'm studying from kaplan notes. Have started Obs and Gynae today - hope to give it a good first reading in 7 days. Will keep my FA next to me as i go thru it, becos I find that in the end one only has time to read FA(last few days) so I like to make pointwise additions as I go. I'l be slow starting as I'm still waiting for my Step 1 results and its very un-nerving, but I thought I have to start so I am. I'm studying with a friend and we'd set a 2 month deadline of going thru all the material at least once.

Best of luck Cordmd for your step 1 and remember one thing that you can't change our past but we can change our future so work hard and you will be through very soon.

HI I saw that you have posted several times about exam master. I have just started studying but I can pass on to you the the advice I've been given:
I've been told to do blueprints for all subjects except Obs/gyn and surgery - to do kaplan notes for those. to use either Crush the boards OR FA( the 4th edition is apparently a huge improvement on the earlier ones)
For Q's to do kaplan and USMLE World. I've not heard of exam master except for what I've been reading on other peoples posts. I would recommend you read FAT_GOITER"S post from last year on his exam experience as well as his opinion on exam master.
In the end we all need to read from books that we find easier reading as long as they're appropriate. Hope this helps

Hey ss, welcome to the group. We r all at differrent stages of preperation so don't worry ,just jump in.Kaplan is pretty good.Good luck

  #20

Hi nashua, Hamidi, ss and my dear friend FH: at this point I'm away from home and you're right Hamidi we're all at different points of progress but I think as we go on we can keep each other going. I'm actually taking a break before my result is out on Thursday. keep studying folks and I'l touch base again on thursday. It looks like we're either doing Kaplan or blueprints and it really does'nt matter which one I think.
Have any of you already subscribed to UW or Kaplan Q bank. Just wanted yr thoughts on that. Is it better to do it side by side or wait till later?
I did'nt bring any books with me 'cos did'nt want to feel guilty about not studying, but this exam result anxietyis not letting me breathe.
I just need to know, then if I fail at least I can go on with my life!
Happy studying everyone...

Hey guys, after recovering from the depression of step 1 results Im starting full force to study for step 2. And im out with a vengence to redeem myself and step 2 is my target. Ive read 100 pages of crush, and done with Heme, CVS, GI, Respi and Preventive med in Kaplan. Read bits and pieces of Blueprints but going to stick with Kaplan for the meantime. Planning to take the exam in may.

Did about 75 questions in UW averaging in low 40's, highest is Respi at 60%. Doing random blocks of topics I covered already and adding along as I finish each topic. Want to give on good read and then debating on weather to view Kaplan highlights or extended lectures? Betwixted whether I should use this time for videos or just do a second/third read with lots of questions.

thanks for the post on CMDT, will note that, btw, CMDT is kinda overwhelming, how do you guys use it? Just as a reference other topics there that are a MUST read? Dont want to spread myself out too much, that was my waterloo on step 1.

Hi cordmd? So your on vacation huh? good you deserve it!!! Are we celebrating today? good luck you'll be just fine. 8)
