Hi, I heard a friend of mine passed step3 after her match when she couldn't find anything better to do. but I wonder who need to pass it before the match? Does the requirement vary among different states? Or I'd better put it this way, what else do we need for the match, apart from step1, step2 CK and CS and medical school diploma? many thanks!

its not necessary to pass step 3 b4 match.but u have to clear it b4 finishing residency.some poeple prefer to take the exam b4 begining the residency as it consist of all the subjects that we study for step 2.and once u get busy with ur residency its hard to find time to do all the subjects again.for imgs who are interested in getting h-1 visa they should clear it b4 match or the begining of program.

only some states allow you to take step 3 without residency..others require you to have residency experience before taking..
