hi,

anesthesiology is a competitive field right now...but still with persistent efforts u may be able to make it...u have to do one year preliminary or transitional year for anesthesia and then 3 years of anesthesia....1+3 both are applied through ERAS and u have to get both PGY1 and PGY2 positions for subsequent years...try to find ways to improve ur resume...talk to friends in that field...u will have a good idea...

Thank you so much usmleasr for ur encouraging words.
but i don't understand the pgy1 and pgy2 positions. i have already applied for a few places that offer preliminary positions [i don't understand that too,i:e what is preliminary position]
can u suggest any place i should especially look for?
kind regards
az sheth

preliminary year is similar to PGY1 of internal medicine , (but it has more electives).. PGY1 u have to do for anesthesia is preliminary or transitional year..I guess now it is very late even to make a try... and I don't recommend it as it may become waste of money..wait for interviews for programs u have applied ...also try post match..(there will be a chance if u don't need visa).. hope some one else in forum will be able to say u more about this...
