I did the USMLE CD - test 1 - 50q (u can find it on the net) 1 year before i had the exam (anyway u forget most of the questions in a few months so u can take the test again before ur step 1 exam). My performance was of course very low - I scored around 50% then, and when i did it again one year later i scored 94%.
