how is it going? im sure u r feeling lot more relaxed now since u r done with all ur exams..right???..well dev if u need visa then i think u should take ur step 3 by nov- dec. n get it outta ur way coz then u might have good chances of getting prematch at good programs too.
hmmmmm... books....for step 3 i think im gonna follow kap step 2 notes plus CMDT plus either kaplan or UW question bank online...if u know of any diff books let us know too..i have heard strong medicine for step 3 is a good book too but then some find washington's manual a good one too..so its ur discretion.
dunno abt programs yet but i think programs on east coast of usa r more img friendly ..so im doing research abt that now a days..good luck

Hello guys!!
Long time has passed since I talked to you guys. My CS result was reported yesterday, and I passed. So it's all over now. I am shadowing a doc at a hospital, guess I am busy. How is it going with you guys? Anything exciding?? I don't think I will take Step 3, besause i got the lazies. When are you guys thinking about taking it? Good luck though. Keep in touch!!

congrats dude . now u must be feeling relaxed after all these exams r over. u must b lucky that u got to shadow a doc at a hospital coz i enquired here abt shadowing under a doc at a hospital but they all r scared of stupid HIPPA law. now u can have CHIVAS REGAL or JOHNY WALKER black label..lol

Hey gals,
Happy post July 4th, hope you all had a great time at a fire work! Sure i did BB, had few drinks last night and now i got a headache.Thank you gals for your congrats.
To dev, I took the CS on 12th May and score reported 22nd June. So it didn't take that long. You should be getting yours soon, good luck! You will be fine as everybody else, don't worry.
To BB and Sar,
BB, it seems you gotta know somebody at least, if you don't know the MD that you gonna follow around. If not it's kinda hard, but hey keep trying......you know "the skuicky door gets the oil" so keep ringing. Have Sar and you started your Step 3 prep yet? Are you working somewhere BB? in some research or something? If you do what do you do and what are you working on? Now i am thinking about doing some research till i start a residency, well only if i get one. Now i am done with all the tests and certified, did couple of rotations here, and i feel like i need to do something serious, ....but i don't know yet, will see. How is Sar doing? What's up girl? What do you up to? have you find something to do in a hospital yet?
Anyway gals, lemme know what you all up to, keep posted!

wish u a belated happy 4th of july too..first of all i would like to correct ya that i aint no gal..so u can't include me in when u say 'hey gals'...lol...so u r having fun..thats good to know....well i know couple of MD's but one has private practice n the other is in non teaching hospital..n i cant work in hospital coz of HIPPA..well most programs want hands on clinical experience in USA which is very difficult..simply observing under a doc dont count that much..i hope u r able to examine patients on ur own under supervision though......well step 3 prep is going ok..i wish i could study more as i have very lil time to study now a days...im looking into programs where i would be applying so im kinda researching programs as well as doing my job..my job is abt teaching as well as i go n observe under one doctor.
well lemme know wat field r u interested in n if u have any particular programs u r thinking of applying to...havet heard from Sar for a long time now..hope she is doing fine...well thats all from my side..keep in touch..good luck

Uups, BB....... I apologize. Good to know that. Anyway what kind of teaching job is that you are doing? in med school ? Could i know little bit about it? i am curious. Shadowing a doc is better than nothing, at least you could be in touch with medicine. Yes, i am able to see and examine the patients. (even i do rectals, i am not saying that i like to do it ) Also me too got the token and plan to email some programs about their requirements. Ooh i am into IM by the way. I think you are too if i am right. So where are you plan to apply? Have you emailed or called any program yet? Hey BB, if you are interested we could exchange info about programs,maybe? lemme know. You can pm me about your idea.
Sar, glad to hear that you are find something to do, or even an externship!! Wonderful. Are you doing it near your home? How do you like it?
Also any of you guys got your LOR's yet?

How are you? I am doing fine, just busy. I am doing a psychiatry observership, with a psychiatrist. I havent got an eras token yet. I got my ecfmg cert today, thanks God!
I havent got any recommendation letters yet, but they are in the process. You are welcome to ask any thing about it.
Sorry for replying you late. Are you working on eras? Which programs have you researched so far? and what are you doing these days? job or observership etc? When are you taking step 3?
What have you learned so far in your observerships???

Yes you are right its been a long time! I sent you a pm though.
You are so quick, thats great, you are done with applying. I am working on application. I have to ask you some questions. Did you send docs to ERAS for scanning? Should all docs be photcopies?? I am waiting to get LORs, as soon as i collect them i will send them to ERAS.
Did you request to ecfmg for the release of transcripts (in the ERAS application form)? Is it necessary?
Is it necessary to provide Deans letter. What if i click no to for the option of providing deans letter on eras form??
I hope you will asnwer me soon.
I havent heard form ELM either. She is She, not he
