Thanks for answering sar! Yeah, I'm wondering too why we can't edit a submitted post anymore. Any idea what it should say once everything is ok? Like "credentials verified" or something like that?

Thanks again!

Hi rhonda,

It should say "Your final med diploma and transcripts are verified and received from your med school".

My dearest Sar,

I haven't heard from you since years now, I hope you haven't forget your ELM .raised eyebrow

I hope that everything is going well with you and you are in good health and spirit!!!

I took the CS last week in Atlanta, and I have no clue how I did, exept i have a feeling that I might fail.disapproval I forgot to do very crucial 2 manuevers on 2 cases. I can't believe I forgot to do them. Ohh well, i don't even wanna think about it now. Worse comes it's just a test failure, who cares.

How are you doing dear? How is everything? What are you doing now? Have you got your certificate yet? Have you found any externship and such yet? I am starting to look for something that i could do for the USCE, gonna do some research online, I guess. May be i would find something. Are you thinking about taking the step 3? I am not sure if you needed a visa or not. If you don't tell me why are you thinking about taking the step 3 now? Does it gonna help in our application? Anyway Sar, i would love to keep in touch with you as I said earlier, and please count ELM as your dear friend as I count you as mine and tell me about what and how are you doing.

Sincerely yours, ELM

To Elm

Hi Elm..sorry for a late reply as i was busy..im in India now n having fun..im glad u r done with ur CS now..don't worry abt how u did coz im sure u would pass..i could't finish 2 of my cases either but i passed..n one thing i want to tell u that i don't like that attitude of urs when u said that its just another exam n wat if i fail..i agree its just another exam..but we being foreign medical grads we have to perform best to our knowledge..a failue in any exam would mean another attempt n that would count negative for us so its better to give ur best shot on ur first try..im sorry i dont wanna disappoint u but im talking from my experience n the scenario last year for getting residency was not any good n there's lot of competition..hope u got my point....No taking step 3 now won't help ur resume but if u have time now y not get that exam outta ur way coz i think that in residency one does't get enough tim to study so since i have enought time now that i can spend studying..n that will help brush up ur knowledge for interviews too..good luck

HI elm and BB (or CR),

Nice to see messages of you both. Sorry for the late reply.

For a long time, there was nobody here to chat with. I kept visiting the forum regularly and then i became irregular. By chance i checked this page and got messages of both of you. Its always nice to be in touch with good friends.

Elm, as BB said you dont need to worry, you will pass this exam too. I also forgot many imp things in my exam. For step 3, my answer is same as BBs, but i think it will also help for your resume. Some programs prefer a candidate with step 3 done. I havent started my prep yet, just thinking. May be we three will start the prep together. That would be good!

I tried for externship, but didnt get it. I am still trying. I havent got my certificate yet, as my credentials are not yet recieved by ecfmg from my school.

Glad to know BB that you are enjoying time with your family. Dont think about exams till you are in india. just enjoy your time. Thanks for being in touch. Let us know when you get back here and start your step 3 prep. May be i join you for this exam too.

Elm I consider you my friend too, and we will be in touch and will study together as a team like before.

Let me know if you get externship etc.

Ok friends,

It is nice writing a message to old friends!

Stay in touch!

Sar.

hi sar,elm,civasregal

i am regular reader of ur posts.thats help me a lot during my step2ck preparation & i passed that exam.thanks a lot.smiling face

I am appearing for step2 cs in nov. Have to apply for cs visa.

can you please suggest, do i need to again apply for visa to attend the interviews as i am in india right now. Can i appear for cs on B1/B2 visa. or do i need to get sponsorship visa from my relatives(though not in blood relation) in US. Which approach will be better? Please reply???? I am 1998 graduate, single, working in surgery stream for the last 4yrs. Is there any chance of getting residency in any branch?

I am feeling so lowsad as i know some people who didn't get visa even after showing ecfmg CS appointment letter.

Good to see you Sar and BB here! Keep in touch guys!

Now Ravi, I don't know anything about visas as I am a resident in the US for years. I am sorry, i can't help you with this matter. Why don't you ask BB in the visa forum? She might have some ideas for you. Good luck with everything!

Hi Ravi

congrats on passing step 2 CK. well regarding ur question i would try to answer but i aint no visa expert.

Firstly yes u can take CS on tourist visa that is B type visa and they would give u a tourist visa for CS too at embassy. it depends for how long is ur stay in US depending upon ur visa duration ..it could b 3 months, 6 months, one year multiple entry or 10 year multiple entry...since u r planning to take ur CS by november then u would have to be in US by late october or early november so that u can appear for interviews at same time when u take ur CS..once again it depends on ur visa duration..one usually gets visa to appear for interviews as well as for taking step 3 ..well it might be a positive point or a negative point if u try to get sponsorship from ur relatives..this all depends upon visa counseller's mood. but i would advice u to take ur CS by september..that would help u much more..rest is ur decision. i hope this helps..good luck

hey civasregal,

thankyou so much for your advice. smiling face You are really very nice.grin

with best wishes,

ravi

Hello BB (or CR),

Glad to hear from you. I know its hard to say good bye to your loved ones. Time passes so quickly when you are with your family. You will visit them again, when you will be doing your residency, and at that time with more money and gifts!smiling face

Now your question about psych. I am interested in psych but i will apply also in FM. Then its up to my luck which one i would get. I definitely need LOR from my psych professor. I worked with him and he knew me. I will ask someone to get my LOR from him.

I havent got externship yet. I am thinking to take step 3. How much you have studied so far. I cant apply without my cert but i can start my prep. I want to have some thing in my resume, if not the externship.

Tell me how much you have studied for step 3? and when are you going to take it?

Ok BB,

Have a wonderful time with your family!

Sar.
