Hi Sar how r u doing? its very strange that u did't get ur ecfmg certificate yet...i mean if ur medical school diploma and ur transcripts r verified n u have no payments due to the ecfmg then u should have it in ur hands by now....CALL THEM !!!!!...may b u sent them transcripts but they lost it n didt verify it..coz i sent my medical school diploma as well transcripts the first time but they just verified my med. diploma at tht time n then i sent them med school transcripts at the time of my step 2 ck application again n then they had them verified. well im still doing my crappy job..lol...yeah i go to observe under one doc who has his private practice but i dunno how much is that gonna help...well i wish i could see cricket matches too  well u should plan a visit to ur home too..so that u can see ur family...coz right now is the time as you would start applying to programs n be busy with interviews by september this year. good luck !

Hi BB, I got ecfmg email reply today. They dont have my final transcripts. But oasis is not showing any thing like that. Any way they have asked me to send final transcripts, and two photos. My final diploma is verified so i think i dont need to send it again, nor any kind of form. I will send them these docs tomorrow or on monday. Your job will certainly help you...you are working with a doctor and you have a chance to know how the med system works here in US as well as some experience of pt with different diseases and Rx, plus your comm skills will be more improved plus you will have another thing to post on your resume. Its better to do something than nothing! Are you searching and applying for externship at hospital? Find any friends house where you can watch the match. I am not sure whether i will be able to watch tomorrows match. Yes i am also hoping to visit my family before interviews, residency etc, etc. Are your plans for the trip finalized? Thanks for replying, your doubts were true, they have lost my transcript. Have a good time! Sar.

Hi ELM sorry for a late reply. how r u doing?? im sure u must b enjoying ur time after step 2CK...soon we would hear a 99 score by you I hope u r enjoying ur vacation. well u asked me abt my CS experience ......so im gonna write down my experience for u although i think i have pretty much told all abt my experience here n there....first of all u asked me if 2 weeks is enough for taking CS??......well 2 weeks is enough if u r pretty much confident abt ur clinical knowledge n u know wat to do in exam...if i had to take CS for first time i would personally take abt 4 weeks like i did. i had abt 35 days for my prep. after my step 2 CK n i wasted abt a week just relaxing. Then i got hold of UW notes online n went through it once..took me some time but it was ok..the key to exam is practice with time frame the clinical encounter plus pt. note....so that by the exam time u would have everything on ur finger tips...watch UW videos for physical exam..they r good....i didt practice each n every case in UW but just made a mental list of imp. ones ..they were abt 30 cases n practiced them twice..rest of cases i just read...practicing writing pt. notes is imp too coz 10 minutes may seem too much but in reality when u r under pressure n stress 10 minutes dont seem long enough. I crammed LIQORAAA n PAMHUGSFOSS by heart...used to drape pt. right away after introduction part..used to pretend washing hands b4 physical exam while practising.....make sure u speak slow n clear..coz i think this exam is just abt ur confidence n spoken english. I used to write down my liqoraaa n pamhugsfoss on scratch paper as soon as they told u to begin encounter..n then would read abt the case n write down pt.'s name so that i could look at it just in case i forgot..i would also write down vital signs at same time...roughly i would spend abt 45 secs on door n then knock n then enter..greet the pt. n then introduce urself..drape the pt. after introduction..ask him if its ok to put sheet on him...use appropiate TRANSITION SENTENCES..thats the key.........UW tells u when to use transition sentences..i would then begin physical exam n wash my hands b4 that..tell pt. to excuse u for few seconds as u need to wash hands......address the pt.'s concern right away..counsel right away too coz u would forget at end..tell pt. watever u r doing....summarise in the end wat u r thinking n wat kinda tests u would run..in the end tell him..as soon as u get the results of tests back u would see him again n then u n pt. can sit down together n discuss diagnosis n Rx options...end ur conversation by thanking him/her for their cooperation ..n good bye.. thats abt it i think.....if u have any more questions feel free to ask..i hope this helps. good luck

Hi Sar How r u doing?.....i hope u have sent the transcripts to ecfmg for verification..ecfmg take abt 3-4 months to verify ur stuff so i would say that u should expect ur ecfmg certificate by august...just in time for u to apply for residency..u r trying for psychiatry..right?...i was reading somewhere abt internal medicine/psychiatry residency..i mean does one learn abt int. med as well as psych residency in that kinda residency??? wat r the pros n cons of that kinda residency???..lemme know if u know anything abt it....coz psych would b my second choice..but i would get some psych reco letters when i go back home next month now coz i dont have any from psych...im going home on 7th May n would b back by 11th june..but i would keep in touch..when i come back i would b busy applying n getting my stuff ready for ERAS.....India n Pak both have won 2 matches each n they r playing one now....sometimes i think they fix these matches in advance so that both would win equal number of matches n both would b spared from the wrath of general public in their respective countries..but still its fun to watch i guess..lol hope to hear from u soon...have u found any externship yet?? good luck

Hi BB, Sorry for the delayed reply. Now you have few days and then you will leave for your country. I am sure you must be counting days. Is your preparation done. One has to shop a lot for the gifts etc for family and friends. I have heard about med/psych program. It is a 5-yr residency in which you have to get training in both fields 50-50. I have no idea about its scope, advantages and disadvantages etc. I will search for it and will let you know. I also thought that matches were fixed, but i am not sure. I enjoyed all matches. It was a good cricket. Now you know that both countries are palying against rest of the world 11 in houston this yr. Afridi and Sehwag will open the match. I dont know about the further details. it would be very interesting. I havent got any externship yet. I have applied for it lets see when will i get it. I have sent my docs to ecfmg, but they havent updated my oasis. I dont know whether they got it or sent it to my med school or not. How is your step 3 prep going? I cant apply for it until i get my cert. So i am just waiting. Keep in touch! Have a good trip to india!

Hi sar! I was just wondering what was writtent in your OASIS credentials before you knew that they haven't received your TOR, etc from your school? Did you get a letter before stating that they received it already? Thanks and good good luck with the results!

Hi rhonda, I dont understand your question completely...but i can explain to you A-Z. After CS result i checked Oasis, it was saying "Final Diploma is verified and received" thats it nothing else was there. I wait for many days then i sent them email (email to ecfmg) tey replied me that I need to send them final medical schoold transcripts and photos. I sent them both of these. In all this period oasis wasnt showing anything. I then called them, they said they have recieved my docs and now they will send them to my med school. After some days my oasis was updated and it was shoing that "final med school transcripts and photos have been sent to your med school" Then i also got this message in written by ecfmg. Now I am waiting, when my school would verify those docs and when they send it to ecfmg and when it will send my ecfmg cert. Thats the whole story. Hope it will help. Best of luck, Sar.

I dont know how can i edit the mistakes that i made in the above message. Previously we used to have an option for editing the message even after sending it. Any ways i hope you can understand what i want to say. (it was showing, rather than shoing in above message, plus many other mistakes...) Sorry about it.
