I took step 2 CK 3.5 weeks ago. I checked the OASIS yesterday. It did not allow me to re-register. I tried it today, it allowed me to re-register. The score report has not updated yet though. But I just wonder if that means I have failed the exam?

no. you have to wait until you see that your score has been reported to do OASIS. Otherwise, I think for 3 weeks after your exam, you can't register, but then you can, even though your scores are not out yet. Relax and try again after Wed. Your scores should be out soon.

I always think they wont let you re-register until they update the scores. But this is something new this year. They allow you to re-register even if they have not updated the scores. Is this a warning sign they put to those who have failed the exam? Did this happen last year?
What a "happy" new year!!!!! LOL

Hi green,
You just have to wait until your scores are posted on oasis, you can then try the trick, till then nothing is reliable. If they let you re register, it doesnt mean you are fail. Wait and hope for the best!

hi sar, thank you for your reply. I have been waiting for the update for 5 weeks. There is still no news today. Does anyone have the similar situations? Plz anybody, it is just me or what? I am so anxious right now. Cant sleep well. I dreamed I have passed with a score above 90. But it is just a dream. May my dream come true in the happy new year?????? Plz answer me, anybody!!!

i have the same problem
I took the exam the 3 of december
I can reapply since the 2 or 3 of january
BUT my score report did not came out already
I call the ECFMG and they told me after a long and difficult discussion to get som information that it may not be a bad sign
The person i talk to, kept saying that the score did not came out !
If you have any other news, i am interested
I am also anxious but i think that it doesn't mean anything until you have the score report date

What did they mean by saying "it may not be a bad sign"? Does it mean everyone who is allowed to re-register before the score update has passed the exam or just you???
I just checked the ECFMG this morning, nothing occurred. I was just wondering what they are doing? Holiday new year delay? Since what time, the US has become so lazy???? No wonder!!!

oh, froelics, I forgot to ask you. Did they explain why they allow people to re-register before the system update? To my understanding, they wont allow people to re-register until the system is updated.

The person on the phone was not very confortable with my questions.
She also told me that if you register before the score report, it will cost you 100 dollars that wont be reimbursed if you pass the exam finally. They have no reason to say that except if its true !
I think that something must change in the software that is organizing the registration after 3 or 4 weeks.
It says in the usmle information booklet that you can retake the exam 60 days after you take the exam, not before.
BUT to be able to do that you need to be able to register before 30 days after the first exam. If not, you cannot register on time to get the good eligibility period that start 60 days after.
So it seems logical that you can reapply at least 3 weeks after you take the exam.
I also heard about similar experience on this forum of people who were able to register again but finally pass the exam.
Nobody report the other experience : being able to apply before the score report and to fail when the score report come out. This is probably because the success rate on this exam is about 70 % and maybe more for people of this forum who seems very motivated !

It seems like we still have a chance to pass. Do you hear anyone who could not re-register before update and failed? Do you think I should call ECFMG? Do they give out any hint if we pass or not? I guess not but still wonder. Actually, the update should be very soon. Did they tell you when they update their system?
By the way, I took exam on Dec 1 2004 in LA. I remember there were too many examees that day. I guess they took time to handle it plus the holiday season.

I calles monday and they told me that it should come out shortly
My previous score report date were always a wenesday.
Was it the same for you ?
If its the case, it should come out today !!!!!!!!!

I just called ECFMG, they told the exactly same thing " it may not be a bad sign!" Well, I dont know what they meant!

Called them again. A lady answered the phone this time. She said if you can re-register before update, you "might" have passed the exam!!!

Who knows what is going on. I posted something on a different topic and someone told me they called ECFMG and that they are closed until the 15th. I am going NUTS and I know you all are too. This is extreme punishment. But our stories are the same.... can't register.... no update on whether we even took the exam and then the chance to re-register. I like the last answer... It is letting me register because I passed. Hope so....I don't think I can wait another 2 or more weeks even though I would have to. I feel for you all that took the exam on December 1st... I took mine on the 15th and I know you have been through it. Good luck... my prayers are with you all...... and keep us posted. I check oasis today and the score report came out
I tried to re apply and i pass !!!!
SO TO ALL YOU ARE READING THIS MESSAGE THE OASIS TRICK IS WORKING ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE THE SCORE REPORT DATE !!!
before that, after 3 or 4 weeks you can reapply. ITS NORMAL and it does not mean anything
SO don't worry if it happens to you
Its a lot of stress BUT DON'T PAY ATTENTION

They have not updated my scores? What takes them sooooo long. I guess i have to wait for another week!

How accurate is the oasis trick? I'm sweating balls here.
I waited for the STEP 2 CK info to be updated. It read:
Date of Exam: Dec 3
Sent: Jan 5 , 2005
So then I went to IWA and I tried to reapply...
AND IT LET ME!
SO AM I SCREWED? Did i fail the exam?
Is oasis 100% accurate?
