:shock: :shock: hi,
anyone, plz help me get started on step 2. i m through with my step 1 since july, but i cant get myself to start studing for step 2. i hav to give it by march, but i hav only done obs/gyn in 1 whole month n dont ask how i did tat, i just cant get to read those books, i guess since i studied for 1 year with all my full attention, ive just worn out. plz if theres anyone whos preparing for step 2 of march, plz tell me ur timetable so i can co relate with u,
n can i make it till march with almost no preparation till now, if i start to study now can i make it, is the effort worh all of it,
plz i need someones advice n sincere help, no false reassurances

go through exam experiences page in this forum...and selct which is good for u ....for questions Usmle world....for text Kaplan 5 volume books helped me...All the best

i am in the same dilemma as you..am appearing for step 2 at the end of march and am not sure if i will be prepared for it in three months time since am starting now.i need help too.

i am in the same boat as well, gave step 1 two months ago, but just cant seem to sit down and study. i have taken my test date for mid march so that i get serious, but it didnt help. lets make a schedule!

OMG! It is hard to beleive that I am not the only one.I took my step1 on Sep30th and still havn't started step 2.Today I picked up endo ( my best in step 1) and was shocked to find out that I have forgotten quite a bit.I have bad feelings for wasting so much time BUT whatever is done acn not be undone.Let's start NOW.I would ideally like to get done by end of Apr(that wud suit my family's plans best).I wud study 5-6 hrs on weekdays and most likely none to may be couple of hrs on weekends.I hope I get done .I am planning to read Kaplan notes and do Qbook and Qbank(kaplan) on the side.After my first reading Iwud do UW Qbank.That is a lot to do in this lil time(I am a slow reader).So what do u guys think???

Hi did u guys start studying.I studied 1 and half days last week.I am going on a skiing trip again and I think when I come back I'll have to make some major changes .May be I'll start going to the library.I am realy gettin frustrated now.I hope u ppl r studying hard.GL

I'll tell you what I did to motivate myself. I scheduled my test. Took step I end of June, decided that I needed to get my step II out of the way for residency applications. Ended up being too nervous about passing step I that I decided I couldn't start studying until I got my results (end of July). Got my eligibility period for August, Sept, Oct. Wasted another month doing other things (anything but studying), and then started hardcore in Sept. So for me, scheduling the exam, knowing I had deadlines for residency applications, and not going home after work but going to the library made the difference (if I go home, I sleep, eat, watch TV, anything but study). Fear is also a great motivator!

Thanks retroviradae,yes u r right I'll have to give myself a deadline,which I have(my kid's summer break 1st of June)..I shud take step 2 b 4 that so wecan have a fun summer vacation Aftr my skiing trip I'll start seriously.Better to get done and relax.Thanks or ur input  .Good luck
