Hi BBB.... Thanks for the answer.Infact, it was very revealing and heartening. Just one more question. What do you think about the mail which I got ? "Advise us whether you wanted to be in pre-match or not?" Is it indicative of something for me?I mean , (let me ask this) Does that mean that they have selected me provisionally? I noted that they have sent the same mail to 10 other candidates........(It was a group mail)... I asked a question regarding ...H1 Visa , by what time my step 3 result should be ready? ...to my programme coordinator a couple of days ago,but there was no reply until now. Does this indicate anything? If they offer pre-match, Do I need to physically go there and sign or I can call them and say that I want pre-match and that is enough? Once I accepted a prematch, Can I cancel my all other (3 of them) interviews without fear? Thanks a zillion for the wishes...(I wish my programme coordinator could be as friendly like you......) Thanks once again Jayakrishna _________________

To Jayakrishana, I am a pediatrician from India, will be going to US for MPH and will try to get residency/fellowship in sep 2006. Are you aware of any pediatric subspeciality fellowship that they offer to IMG who has completed residency in their home country(for me in India-M. P. Shah Medical college). Hoping for your reply

Hi Your degree in Pediatrics is recognised here in the sense , that they give you fellowship straightaway .No need to do residency. But the requirement is ECFMG certificate, which means you should pass all USMLE STEPS 1,2,csa, and step 3.None of the fellowships do H 1 VISA.You should be on J 1.You can stayhere for nearly 7 years and you should go back to the native country. You can not convert from J 1 to any other visa and also the greencard. Hope this helps Take care

If you will want to become board certified in Pediatrics and in your peds fellowship, you will need to repeat the Pediatric residency in the USA. There are no official lists of programs that offer an H visa - just what people have found in their investigations.
