Can anyone explain what cranial nerve VII does ?

contraction muscles of the face, production of tears, taste from the ant part of the tongue (via the chorda tympani, saliva-producing in parotid, and stapedius nerve to decrease sound in ear.

This how i see it:

GSA-external ear
GVA-not cliniclly significant but fibers innervate soft palate
SVA-ant. 2/3 of tongue as ya say via choda tympani and lingual nerves
GVE-innervates glands lacrimal and submandibular
SVE-mus. of facial expression,post. belly of digastric, stylohyoid and as you say stapedius.
