hey docraj,
i've been a frequent observant of this site bec. my sister just took her step 2 also & she's the one who told me this site can help.
So what if you failed? there's always another time to do it again. it is just an exam. You are already a doctor & you are very lucky you are one.
Do not give up. You can do it the next time around.
It is not the end of everything i am telling you friend, you still can do it just don't give up. COUNT all your other BLESSINGS even the littlest one..
you are special in soo mny ways.. You still have 100% chance of passing this test. Do not let another failure ruin you. Remember that in the future you will be giving wonderful advices to your patients.
Just hang in there.. Take a few days vacation then hit the books again..

I know its disappointing, and the way you're feeling now is only normal. But you cant let these feelings overwhelm you to the point that you throw away everything youve worked so hard for.
I have several friends that have failed the USMLEs a couple of times, two even failed 3 times. And I know it gets harder and harder to come up with the motivation to get back to the books, but you cant walk away from something you KNOW you can ROCK....its just a matter of cracking the code of what youre not doing right. Try something new you didnt do before....take a prep course, do more questions, join a study group...something you think you could give a try.
Give yourself some time, as kerochi said...THEN, get the fire ROARING! Everything happens for a reason...who knows, maybe this setback puts you up for something much better.
Just know you CANT give up.

WELL I WONT GIVE UP. I INTEND TO PASS THIS DAMN TEST IF IT MEANS I HAVE TO SHED BLOOD FOR IT.
I WONDER WHAT RESIDENCIES I CAN SNATCH WHEN I DO?

hello docraj,
failing an exam is not the end of the world. so what if u failed, doesn't means u'll always fail. as kerochi so rightly said, count ut blessings. ur already a doctor , means u'v passed quite tough proffessional exams, so u can pass this one too.
its tough but not impossible. we'll be here to help u, just take a break and then hit the books again.and this time i'm sure u'll get thru.

docraj...when you retake your exam, make sure you are really prepared..many programs won't review applications with multiple attempts on usmle..good luck, don't lose hope..
