Hi BBB please answer this question.I got an interview in Newyork, which I have done extremely well.I have 12 years of Instituitional experience in Pediatric medicine and I have presented myself well. I have got a mail from the hospital "Advise us whether you wanted to be included in the prematch candiadates or not..."for which I replied yes.Just before this when I called the programme coordinator to show my interest and ask for second visit, She said she can not give a second visit, and wanted me to ask questions if I do have any.... Sure I do have some questions, but I am afraid to contact Programme coordinator (who is also from my country of origin) that I am pushing her for some favours and may actually jeopardise my chances of a prematch..... From the perspective of a Programme director, please advise me whether to mail her regularly asking programme related questions(thus show interest) and also.......ask her some favours( like a selection!)..She appeared very friendly and warm.....We had nice chat during the interveiw about the state of affairs in our motherland....... What do you think? Is it a good idea to contact her? Please please let me know....... Thanks in advance

What is the problem? You aren't treating her any differently than you would any other program coordinator, are you? If it was me, you would email me and ask the same questions, wouldn't you???? I get asked enough things by enough candidates, that one more set of questions is just......one more set of questions! Good luck with the prematch! p.s. by the way, I love getting applicants from places that I have visited or lived in overseas - it's an instant bond. Like the candidate who brought me tea and chopsticks from Korea, coffee from Brasil (bless her generous heart!!) and all the other applicants who take the time to learn a little about any other program coordinator!! Think of it as a bond, not a request for favors! :P

Hi BBB.... Thanks for the answer.Infact, it was very revealing and heartening. Just one more question. What do you think about the mail which I got ? "Advise us whether you wanted to be in pre-match or not?" Is it indicative of something for me?I mean , (let me ask this) Does that mean that they have selected me provisionally? I noted that they have sent the same mail to 10 other candidates........(It was a group mail)... I asked a question regarding ...H1 Visa , by what time my step 3 result should be ready? ...to my programme coordinator a couple of days ago,but there was no reply until now. Does this indicate anything? If they offer pre-match, Do I need to physically go there and sign or I can call them and say that I want pre-match and that is enough? Once I accepted a prematch, Can I cancel my all other (3 of them) interviews without fear? Thanks a zillion for the wishes...(I wish my programme coordinator could be as friendly like you......) Thanks once again Jayakrishna
