HI guys,
i think surgeon 1 is right! OASIS does work!!!! u have to wait till scores are reported on the web then try the trick!! mine did work after 3 weeks from exam date ,i iguess i was a little early in posting the above post.try it on thursday mornings.they are updated then.
AND OASIS trick CAN be wrong ..dont think u failed if it accepts ur application trick.wait for ur written mail.

hi all !
i am new in this forum but i like it so far 
took my exam on march 29th, my oasis was updated 19th of april approx, 3 weeks from the test date.....tried the oasis trick, says that i passed...so the trick does work hopefully otherwise i am being happy for no reason , LOL

I took my exam 3 weeks ago and it just showed that OASIS is updated May 24th - it say exam taken may 2nd 2006 - but in the upper right corner it was showing the date from yesterday May 23rd (actually still does). Than I went to try to register for the exam, but it does let me go up to a point - when it tells me to select a test period different from July-September. Does this mean I failed? Or should I chill and try to recheck when everything is updated with the right date tomorrow May25th?
Boy, I really would hate to take this artificial exam again. I already passed Step 2 many years ago with 98. If I don't pass it I need to start everything over again.

I will like to update the methodology. It is much more simpler now.
1. Confirm that your score has been reported through oasis.
2. Go to IWA site use your USMLE id and passowrd
3. Try to Register for step 1
4. Next screen red letter appear telling that you have passed this step or similar exam. Remember if you dont look those words in panic and keep hitting next you can still register as exceptions exist to retake the exam.
I almost fainted due to that mistake. I thought I failed but I actually had passed. I am still awaiting for score.

hi can someone please give me some advice...i tried teh oasis trick but im unsure as to what it says. i took my exam on may23rd so decided to check oasis today but at the exam date section it says " Did not schedule and/or did not take exam" and at the score report date it says " 08 Feb 2006"...what does this mean...im confused

HEEEEELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP please..I took the exam on June1st..IWA is letting me register now even though it wouldn't let me in the past month. OASIS is not updated yet with my score..Does this mean I failed??????...my understanding is that the trick works only after score reporting updates in OASIS, but my question is WHY IS IT LETTING ME IN STEP 1 APP NOW AFTER IT WOULDN'T LAST MONTH????????????????...I AM PANICKING..PLEASE HELP

I am facing the same problem. One of my friend too was allowed to proceed with the application. Our scores haven't been reported to OASIS. We had taken our exams on May 15 and 19, 2006. It doesn't let us re-apply for Step 2 CK & CS.
Our eligibility period for the exam was April - June 2006. Maybe since July has begun, the eligibility period has expired, it is letting us re-apply. I am hoping this is the case.
Is this happening with anyone else too? Is the OASIS trick reliable only after scores are reported? And is it letting us re-apply coz the eligibility period has expired?
Please guide us, we are devastated. Our exams were not too bad.

This is the most logical explanation to my situation. Indeed my EP was April may and june for step 1. And I am registered for Step2 CK and CS. This all makes sense because the system recognized that my EP expired (when I tried it was july 1st, the very previous day it would'nt allow me to). SO the system recognized that and allowed me to proceed which is not the case for the other steps which I am either in the EP (CS) or before it (CK)...OMG thanks a lot man or girl!..u made my day..I had a crappy 4th of July because of that.
Hopefully we pass after all..

Hi all ,I gave my exam(step 1) on 30 may and tried oasis trick and I was able to register for the exam. Does it mean I failed..? Devasted ..........................

Thank you all for your posts, now I know I'm not the only one experiencing this.
I also freaked out last week when suddenly they let me register for step1. I literally cried a river because this is my second attempt. I went 2 days like this until I started reading posts in every forum I could. I learn the Oasis trick just work after the results are released. Then I started feeling a lot better but now, after all this time waiting (took it on May31), I'm starting to be anxiuos again, I know the results are in delay, but I wanted to start with step2 CK material this month so I can take it in early October. Now, knowing I have to wait until July 19 I can't concentrate on doing anything else and get really frustrated for loosing all this time!!!

I called ECFMG and confirmed that results are delayed and it is going to be updated this friday for those who took exam in late may ,I took on 30 may.
I understand your frustration Yoliro, its hard to concentrate in such situations,wish you lots of luck on your result.

This is very important new piece of information for Oasis Trick..I passed after I experienced what I mentioned above. So the morale of the story: IWA will let you register and freak the crap out of you if your Eligibility period ended. So please every one, don't panic if your SCORE DID NOT UPDATE but Iwa let you register..Good luck for all..

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if the Oasis trick is still legit. I took my exam June 30th, score posted 26th and It wouldnt let me reapply (YES!). Im a little relieved, but still nervous about the outcome.
Has anyone heard of an instance where IWA wouldnt allow you to reapply, however the results came back not passing? I guess im in denial about passing this thing

It sounds like a browser issue or an internet blocker problem. Were you using Internet explorer? Try firefox and make sure you allow Java Scripts. That should work.

when i tried several times it did let me apply for step 1 its really heartbreaking .I dont want to believe that i've failed after so much hard work,I'll wait till i get the scores in mail.Im hoping the trick was wrong at least for me!

hey how long does it take for the score to come? i took my exam on 21st june and ecfmg seems to have forgotten me completely. i mean they still havent told me if my score has been posted. my medical edu credentials have reached tehm. they havent that on oasis either. i m feeling very very low.. m an img from india..what do i do. shud i wait? its over 6 weeks after the excam now.. i m tensed, i cant get sleep. cant eat.. do u guys think i shud call them???

hi sweetchild... i think you should call them. it says on the print out we get after the exam to wait 6 weeks then call.
and hello to everyone in 'the trick' thread... i think its for all of us ... all obsessed with finding out our results RIGHT NOW!!!...
I just took my exam yesterday and felt it was so hard. I'm pretty sure i've done very badly. But... like a crazy person i'll be on oasis everyday to see if my exam has been reported then i'll be trying the trick. very intelligent... whoever came up with it. obviously they won't let you apply again if you've passed... wish i had thought of it. what happens if you try to apply before your score is reported? i'm too scared to try.
does the score report mean that our exam has been graded and they are sending it to our medical school before us? i'm assuming that the score report date will be sooner than 6 weeks since we can use the trick before getting our actual results right?... how early is it usually reported?

mine was updated tonight at 12:00am. took it aug 24, updated on oct 13th, 3 weeks, not bad. i knew i did well coming out of the exam, but my heart still skipped a beat when i checked to see if i passed.
i did, now i have to wait a few more days for the score report in the mail.
