Hi guys
I was just wondering if I should buy the Kaplan books to prep for Usmle.I got other books which I am reading,but from what I heard it is better to have the Kaplan notes to pass Step 1. What do you think about it?

I plan to take Step 1 in November, and I'm taking the Kaplan center course in preparation. I'm an IMG, and the Kaplan notes have been very useful to me. I have used Kaplan to orient myself to the board style questions, and I have some BRS books for reference. I also have First Aid for USMLE Step 1. Hope this is helpful.

Yes, it's expensive, but I can't afford not to have the money for "that" -- so studying is the priority. I don't have a car. I take the bus/walk or get a ride instead. I usually eat at home and watch TV/videotapes instead of going out. I also watch my pennies, nickels, and dimes.... etc.... (violins are playing)

You can buy them cheaper on ebay.

Also, you can by BRS and HY books on ebay or on amazon used for very reasonable price. Kaplan book are great with audio lectures but it is kind of difficult to read from Kaplan without supporting literature if you don't take Kaplan live or videos.

sorry to ask but how much did you pay for kaplan ??
I have the books that I bought from someone who did kaplan live lectures.
Do you think that the videos made a difference for you to study??
Do you think you could study with the books without the video?
I do not have to much money now but if is worth my parents will pay for me to do the center prep.What do you think??
I am a IMG and I graduated almost 4 years ago
