i took the kaplan live review and goljan explicitly said that estrogen is not given as hrt anymore, but when I was doing the usmle cd it give estrogen as the hrt therapy.. even in the 2005!!!! what's up????

There are still mixed reports on HRT.
If given its given to women who request and can tolerate it.
Also when given the estrogen is given with progesterone to decrease the chance of endometrial and breast ca. and to decrease the incidence of breakthru bleeding that occurs when the estrogen is given alone.
