hi to all
iam a newbie at the USMLE. just abt to graduate from IMschool i am still unclear abt many facts. like if i want to take part in the 2006 residency process do i HAVE to give in my Step2 CS results along with step 1 and step2 CK?
i had posted this query under anthr topic but didnt get ne replies...hope it generates some in here! :|
I shall sit for Step1 at the end of May or Jun ཁ. [in all thts 4 1/2 months of studyign for step 1] Then kaplan course for Step 2 in jun - july and sit for the second exam in aug or sept, in time for match 2006.(Step 2 CS isnt necessary for residency match i heard)
Guys, i hv prepared this time table by myself wihtout being aware of the official dates! I am not sure if i'll be anticipating any problems. I really need suggestions to change, if at all, my exam schedule.

if ur making the 2006 match cos i am as well n i think we need to have all our scores stpe 1 and2 and CS in by dec/jan 2005/2006 for the march 2006 match...
pls ask somebody cos im in the same position as u..

If u need to get H1b ,u have to pass step 3 before Match. It means that u need to be ECFMG certified 2 months before Match. In order to have enough time to take step 3 and get your score by then ,u have to pass all steps by November.

pass all three exams by july..as early as you can..you can start working on your ERAS application july 15, and programs start downloading applications sep. 1.. don't apply too late because some programs have early deadlines, and interview slots fill up quickly.. for IMG's, you must all three exams to participate in the match.

hi...like you..i made plans too to catch up 2006 recidency...il be getting my 3 attempt for step1 on may and the next move is to take step 2 CS first on august before step 2CK maybe by nov...thats all indefinite coz i did'nt get schedule yet...we have a big chance for 2006 resicency but it depends for our results...one of my friend told me thatht its much better if we pass everything before sept. but thats very impossible for our situation for a reason that we have to do things such applying ERAS and september is the first month of the program of matching..
you know..its good too make our plans and decision..but if we didint catch the 2006 residency its ok..let just focus what we did'nt finish yet and soon we'll get there...ok goodluck to your studies and il pray for you and anyone who wants to get in 2006 residency...God bless and take care

what is the date of the year that would be recomended for an IMG to have his ECFMG certificate at, and i have also read that some student had to wait for up to 3 months for thies step 2 CS results, is there any truth to that ???
