how well did the strength and weaknesses in your nbme correlate with the real thing??? is it helpful to follow it???

Very poorly I am afraid, remember that a test as relatively short as the USMLE means one question right or wrong in a different field will skew it opposite to your expectations. Just to give some examples from my own NBMEs and USMLE (just sitting here, if you ask i can dig up the printouts in a few mins for your peace of mine)
Beh Sci: NBME borderline, USMLE asterisk high
Genetics NBME asterisk high, USMLE broad high
Pharm NBME asterisk, USMLE high no asterisk
Renal NBME borderline USMLE high
However the score correlation remained the same, scoring a few points higher than the most recent NBME 2wks before the exam so dont worry too much about your performance profile unless you know yourself your weak areas.

good to know... thank you very much... I think i knew blood and renal really good, but even my embryology beat those two... which i thought was silly.....
