hi..
i have a question to whose score was over 95,which means pretty high.
(recently i started for preparation for STEP1,i'm try to do best at all the time. but sometimes i am stuck in the dream of failing to get a high score. :shock: )
-I'm an IMG,no USCE,No GC. i think i need pretty high score to get into residency in US-
a questions is here.
JUST AFTER TAKING AN EXAM,WAS THERE A GUT FELLING THAT YOU WERE GONNA GET A PRETTY HIGH SCORE???

after taking the exam, most people think they failed.. and although i haven't taken the exam yet, I am pretty much where you are (img, and very little knowledge of basic sciences)... the best suggestion i have for you is to give it as much time as you need to.. it might take 3 or 6 or even a year of prep... what i am trying to say is don't box yourself in with a particular date, just keep studying and eventually you get there. There is no other way. It doesn't even matter what book you use, and people have gotten 99's w/o qbank 1st aid or nbme (though I wouldn't reccomend it).. so the most important element is TIME and EFFORT...

I actually felt pretty good coming out, although that had to do with my attitude of "ive answered most of these cold, who cares that I dont know this one, i've never seen it before, must be a experimental q, or no amount of study would of got this one" and thus I never let a tricky question hold me down during a block
Maybe its not the best attitude to have but it got me through each block without panicing, secure in the knowledge that i was nailing more than my fair share of them. Nevertheless I was amazed when my mom texted me while I was in lectures, didnt think i did that well

i didn't feel too much of anything right after the exam. i could barely remember 5 questions...i really couldnt tell if the exam was good or bad...in the end i had a 99... sounds like most people that have good scores dont really feel like they have done great right after the exam.
don't worry about that now...once you are into your studies, you will feel better...do lots of questions...

I took my step1 on sep 30th and passed with a good score.Comming out of the test I did not have a clue How I did .Mostly my answers were educated guesses.I was planning to start studying for step 1 right after I took my test since I was sure I won't pass(I didn't cz my kids had afall break and then ,Ramadan and.....).I think most of the ppl have bad feelings after the test.Since I had been away from medicone for 10+ years I had strong doubt I wud ever be able to make it.Just do the best that u can do and leaave the rest to God Almighty.I hope it helps.Good luck
