Hello, I received a interview in a place that was in the top three on my list, but I know(or think so) that it is a courtesy interview. My scores and my curriculum are not strong enough for a normal interview at that institution(for what I have heard),what should I do, do I have a chance?, should I feel confortable and secure during the interview?, will I be the "guy" that didnt stand a chance but we had to...? Thank you for replyin with your opinions :?

I think there have been a few threads on this topic. I had posted this question a while ago and got some good answers. Can't seem to find it though. If you want to have a chance, you have to appear comfortable and secure during your interview. Sometimes programs will take someone they know and work well with even though the credentials may not be as high as what they usually demand. Have you done research or any clinical work at this program? Getting an interview seems to be a critical step. For a lot of places, once you pass that hurdle, you are on level playing field with everyone else. Good luck.

yeah, I answered this before. There are courtesy interviews, but that means they are willing to look at you inspite of the rest of your CV because they know you and know people who know you. It makes a difference! So relax and be yourself.

i've talked to a program coordinator several times..according to her, they received 1200 applications..and invited 100 for interviews, for 10 positions..i don't think they would waste their time interviewing as a "courtesy" so if they interview you, they must be interested..it's not always about the high scores..by the way, i used to work in an internal medicine office with a program coordinator, so i know some things 'behind the scenes'
