Hello John, well i'm working as a MA too. I don't know if it counts as a USCE, but the doctor i'm working with has let me see the pts as a doc. clinical history, diagnosis and treatment...of course under her supervision and she gave me a good LOR and help me to got an interview in a well recognize hospital here in OH. I think that anything will count in one way or other. Good Luck. RoC

there is formal training involved which can be from 1-2yrs to become a medical assistant..you then receive a certificate which enables you to work as one..the pay ranges from $8-$10 per hour to start, maybe more depending on the location. medical assistants in an outpatient clinic take vitals, obtain chief complaint, perform urine dips, and sometimes draw blood..some doctors WILL hire someone with no formal training as a medical assistant.
