Buy a book First aid for Usmle Step 1 .It will help you to organize your self. There you can see what topics you should focus on and it will help you to choose right books. Good luck.

many thanks friend. I just wondered that since the statistcs shows that 95%of students at US medical schools pass on first attept, may be it is worth looking into what textbooks the use. What do you think? :?:

Well in First aid you can read all about books and you can see which suits you the most. You have to choice either top rated review books or Kaplan lecture notes.

many thanks. I am right now starting MPH at UCLA. Do you think would it be possible to pass step 1 and 2 in two years, assuming that I have to cover all the material again (I have graduated from Med school 5 years ago, and if you consider that the school is 7 years so it is about 10 years since I have studied biochem etc.) :?

Dont prepare for year, as its haeder to keep going for long periods. Try to finish it faster as you can. Go for a kaplan course if you can afford! Best of luck!

 Hi I am new to this forum. I have completed medical school 9 years back.I have certain medical problems like pattelafemoral syndrome and piriformis syndrome.I want to prepare for USMLE.Which books I should go through? I am planning to go through 9 month Step 1,step 2 center preparation(Videotapes).Does that sound good? What is the difference between center preparation and live courses? Is kaplan sufficient for studying. Can anyone help me?
