a 3 mo year old has diarrhea 3 days receive dextro water 2 days and water for last dayPE he has depressed ant. fontanelle what can explain this physical findings
a.hyponatremia
b.hypernatremia
c.hypoglycemia
d.hyperglycemia
e.hypercalcemia

This is Q from my med -school exam so I have to say I don't know the right answer
I chose hyperglecemia due to receive glucose solution when this patient tend to have hypovolemic situation from diarrhea and the glucose results in osmotic diuresis so the patient still in hypovolemia situation>depressed ant fontanelle .
As i say this is my opinion.What about you gys? :P
