Just done with Crush step two, and had a overview of step two contents. what discourage me right now is the heavy book of Current medicine of dianosis and treatment, which is highly recommended. it cotains 1700 pages and 44 chapters. how do you guys make good use of it? how long do you spend on it? I make some notes of high yields when reading it for review before the examination, but I have to stay with one chapter for two nights.

I dunno if youre planning on reading the whole thing. I dont think that would be good use of your time. I used Kaplan, as a guideline, and anything that wasnt clear or that I needed a little more background in, I looked up in Currents. THeres too much info in that book to have to remember for the exam.
Theres quite a big gap between Crush and Currents, maybe you should use something in btwn (BP or Kaplan) to move you along...personally I wouldnt have enough motivation to get through something like Currents cover to cover.

not only is it too big, but it's not necessary and will slow you down. Do as 2bmd says. Read Kaplan and then if you feel something isn't covered well, move on to a bigger book, like CMDT.

thank you, 2bmd, retrovirid( funny nick name) and other friends who looked at my post. I know Kaplan is a pretty good resourse for step two, but I am currently out of state, and have no access to Kaplan lecture. There is few kaplan notes on ebay and classifield (http://www.usmleforum.com) because of the copyright. Do you have any suggestion to get them?
addtionally, I agree to use CMDT as reference when you encouter the week topic. since I have taken step one and read crush step two, I am going to read CMDT selectively in a limited time . what do you think of this idea?

Yeah, I know theyre cracking down on people selling Kaplan, but if you cant get your hands on a set, you may try blueprints as an alternative, which you can easily buy off the internet at amazon or barnes&nobles. The point is to make your studying as focused on the tested material as possible. If you have a focused text like that, with Currents, and usmleworld, youre set. If you just stick to currents you WILL be overwhelmed. Nonetheless, its all you!
Good Luck.

Many thanks to 2bmd, actually I attempted to buy BP, which is supposed to be a necessarity for CK. In addtion, they are high yields and thin.
