Hey guys, I guess I'm the newb on the block. I'd really appreciate any advice on how you studied the detailed explanations given in Qbank. Did you guys take notes on a notepad (may take alot of time), or annotate them in First Aid? How long would it take you guys to go through a review of a block of 50? How many questions did you find yourself doing per day? Again, I'd appreciate any light that you guys could shine in this matter. Peace.

Hi Link, I used Qbank for Step 2 and am currently using it for Step 1. When I first started, it took me forever going over the answers to each question, including the correct ones. For a block of 25 questions, I would take out my first aid and annotate the appropriate sections with answers from the questions I got wrong. For longer answers and explanations, I would put them in the margins next to my Kaplan notes - that way I could reinforce my weak areas with each reading. I started out with a pathetic 10 question set and did about 5 of those per day. It would take me at least 5 minutes to go over each question so a set of 10 easily added up to 45 minutes for me. Then I slowly built up my endurance and slowly upped it to 5 sets of 15 questions, 5 sets of 20 questions, until it reached a comfortable phase where I could do 2 successive blocks of 25 questions back to back. When you start doing sets of 25 questions, don't spend excessive time reviewing the answers as they tend to repeat themselves with similar questions on the same subject. With sets of 50 questions, I trained myself not to spend more than an hour going over the wrong questions. You start seeing the same theme as you start exhausting the question pool. Hope this helps! :P pinkangel

Hi Pinkangel, Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm finding myself spending A LOT of time going over the detailed explainations from Qbank. I'm spending a little less than an hour going over a block of 50, then, maybe 2.5 or 3 hours going over the answers. :? But, I'll take your word for it, and try to build up my endurance, and hope to see a running theme in Qbank. I really appreciate the reply again! jp

So far, I've been using both Kaplan and Exam Master, and I've been doing short sets (25 q's each) and then making flash cards for each of the topics. I learn best with repeated exposure to the various concepts, so that works for me. I also make notes in FA, but I like the flash cards personally.
