Hi, how are u doing? stick on to ur plan.i suppose u must be finishing the q-bank soon. regarding the %,i think diff people get diff % on usmle despite the fact of getting same on q-bank. so even if u are less than 75%,that does not matter .do'nt freak over it . u will do great. BEST WISHES.

hey 99doc, Thanks for your wish. iam still trying to finish qbank & I am running out of time. Got few more days left. I may have to pay again. I am not ready for the test so I will be spending more time to study. My eligibility expires end of aug. but I don't want to take it that late. I already paid for step 2 also & i have to jump into that right after step 1 test. How's evry1 doing? Tanisha.. evry1?? Have a happy studying.

Tanisha, Sorry for misreading your post! Appleton & Lange do not have a separate Molecular Biology section. I read selected topics from HY Molecular Biology, NMS Genetics, Kaplan Biochemistry and Genetics sections and find them sufficinetly thorough though not complete really. It seems like a jinx to me- every time I write my plan for the day in this forum, something happens that prevents me from following through with my plan! I am not particularly superstitious- but the exam seems to make me irrational, really. So far, I have completed only renal, gastrointestional and central nervous systems. What I am doing now is my big secret! Kerochi, you are right in saying that it is good to wait till you score close to 500 in NBME even if it means paying extra to postpone your exam. We have so much invested in this that few moer bucks cant really matter a whole lot. All the best!

Hey Lisa M, how you doing? Well, I made an avoidable charge of $90. just to reschedule my exam. I was shocked when I did that this am. I did not even read my orange permit that says I need 5 BUSINESS DAYS to R/S my exam w/c I originally scheduled for this coming 6/30. How s .... of me .. Anyways for the better of my sanity,,, gotta do it by next month already. That means 4 weeks of sleepless nights to finish all my dreaded topics. I think I am learning from my qbank mistakes now so help me more GOD!! and every1 wh's been working sooo hard for step 1. AMEN..

its always good to be fully prepared at least for step 1 where u can get q out of the blue & u have to rake ur brains figuring out where u had read it earlier. ALL THE BEST.

Hi Kerochi, Thanks for your answer about Pathophys for B & W. I have scehduled exam for 8 July, also on a tight deadline cos I have to take step 2 as well. Did 73 % of qbank b4 my subscription expired, now going through all of Kaplan notes again, with a few q from RR in between...will probably have to get qbank again...to finish up, and practice q. TRying to work on my mind from now, but its so scary...seems iilogical to be scared of an exam...but then again the stakes are so big. Anyway, good luck with you're studying!

Hi everybody. Good to see evryone focussed and studying hard. Weekend flashed by, no work done, but exhausted frm household stuff. Back to books again. My new plan for the next couple of weeks is: 2 hrs of reviewing imp topics in the morning and 2 hrs of FA, then 2 hrs qbank in afternoon with 3 hrs Goljan and review and then 2 hrs at night with qbank. I'll try to stick to it and see what happens.

hi guys, Thanks for posting while I was OOT for 5 days. Got to study for those days but not as hectic as when i am just staying home. Back to Qbank today. finished behavioral Science q's, got only 60% whc is bad so I am still going through readings to raise my score. I made my schedule for the next 4 weeks & I hope to finish my revisions. I may have to just follow the "Others" exam exp. bec if I am going to study by books again it will take me another 6 mos to review & I can't afford that amount of time anymore. SSSooo i am going to do my 12hours per day study for a month & GO FOR IT!!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL! have a hyperproductive days ahead of you! Happy 4th of July. My bday's coming up too!!

Hello all, It has been a very distracting week for me, but I am trying to do what I can. Kerochi, my NBME score was 390 and that corresponds to about 77 on the two digit score. I am far from ready, and I know it. I completed Kaplan Q bank with an overall score of 51% 3 months back. I know it is quite unconventional to complete Kaplan that early, but I wanted to get an idea about the type of questions I would face. It has helped with focus in my second revision- which unfortunately is taking forever! I had planned to take the USMLE on the 22nd of June, but there were many interruptionds to my study- mostly with my daughter getting sick, and I took NBME on the 11th of June just to see if I could get a passing score to decide on how long I needed to postpone my exam for. Now, I have changed the date to 20th of July. I am taking one day at a time and trying to complete my second revision. For Questions, I still have Kaplan Q- book to work with, and and also Rapid Review. I am surprised that not many people in the forum metion about this- I got it from E-bay after a friend recommended it. The book has 350 questions and the CD has 1050 questions. They are quite similar to Kaplan Q bank. The editor is Dr. Goljan. Only problem, I havent yet figured out how to eliminate the questions that I have answered from getting repeated on the Cd version. I am working on the book right now. If anyone knows how- please let me know. It would be a great help.

You can do it lisam!!! It's good that you're doing Rapid Review, in fact that's a recommended book from the prev exminees who were successful. It was mentioned a lot, maybe you just didn't see the comments but I vividly remember that's a very good book w/ a very good review. I AM SSOOO GLAD YOU MENTIONED IT. When you ordered it thru ebay how long did it get to you? Can you pls give me the author & was that a comprehensive review book?Iam almost done w/ qbank. Would it be advisable to order qbank again? GUYS? Have a HAPPY 4th of JULY every1! Have some barbecue later!!!

Kerochi, the book that I bought is called USMLE step 1. The book has 350 questions and the CD has 1050 questions. It is not a review book (like First Aid) but it just has questions with explanations (like NMS). I dont know if it is the same book that previous examinees have recommended. It took 4 days for me to get my book after I ordered it from e-bay. I still have not figured out how to eliminate the questions that I have used (and got right) from being repeated. I would very much appreciate anyone who can tell me how I can do this.

Hi Kerochi! Happy birthday whenever it was (I'm not sure if you had it already). Great to see you are sticking to ur goals. When are u taking NBME? GL. I'm doing path revisions along with FA and questions from qbank. Do you know if the Normal and abnormal processes in basic sc Board simulator questions are any good? I thought the questions were a little dated. I was doing that yesterday and scored really badly. That was very discouraging. Have u tried that?
