hi every one, i gave my exam yesterday at houston, both proctors and SP were nice and cooperated well. I think I was okay with my data gathering and patient note, but often missed some or other physical exam , i think if any one is in current practice he should not have much problem, as the cases are common, but keeping yourself calm is most challenging. best of luck to all, hope we all pass. any one with similar experience is welcome

my exam was 2 days ago..what an experience!! the time really is a factor..i didn't even get a chance to look at my watch..ran out of time in the beginning(i was already concluding the encounter)..once i calmed down, it wasn't bad..usually left the room with a minute to go..proctors are extremely nice..the exam went quickly..amazing how fast 25min. can fly by!!good luck everybody.

Hi! Is there any difference as to which place you take the exam, like is it any easier if you take it in one place compared to another? Or are they just about the same anywhere? Thanks!

Hi all, I have CS exam on 10th feb. I took Ck on 22nd dec. After taking 8 days rest, now i have to start CS prep. Can any one of you who have taken CS, tell me is one month enough for CS prep. I am out of touch of medicine for 6 years. Please suggest me, can I prepare for CS with in this short period of time or should I rescheduled my exam date???? Best of luck to all of you for your result! Sar.

Thanks bugsbunny for replying. Glad to know that i am not the only one who is trying to take CS in such a short period of time. Have you started prep yet, are you going to take usmleworlds CS course? I just watched physical exam site (on this forum). Its really good. Good luck for your CK result and CS prep! Sar.

Hi bugsbunny, I am in virginia. At now, I dont know about the cases well, i even have not taken uw course yet. My husband tells me to discuss cases with him, as he is a physician too, but i think I should first study some cases, in order to discuss them. Thanks for offering me. I will let you know whenever i feel the need to discuss them. Hope your studies going well. I am counting down for CK result. [-o< If you get your result, let me know too, or if i get my result first i will let you know. Good luck! :icon_thumb: Sar.

I have a basic question on taking step2 CS and match. What's the deadline of applying for match, say of 2005? Somebody told me I'd better have all test results by November to match for the following year. But I am surprised to see you guys are still taking exam in Jan to catch the match of 2005? Then maybe I don't have to take all the exams in such a hurry. Also, what do you guys use for step2 CS preparation and how long does it normally take to prep for it for somebody like me who's out of medical for 5 years? Please let me know. Thank you very much!

deadline to apply for the match is Dec. 1..there have been many ECFMG newsletters stating that those who take CS after Dec. 31 are unlikely to have results available in order to participate in the match(2005)..and there is no guarantee that those who take it before that date will have results ready either..if you're planning to start in 2006, try to have all steps completed as early as September.. books, first aid and kaplan should suffice.

Collins, Thank you for the reply! Are you saying I should be done with the test by Sep and not having all the test results by then, right? I don't know how long I need to wait for step2 CS results to come and should I have its result by the time I send my application or at least for the interview?

gotcha. Thank you. Where can I find info on which hospitals offer prematch? How can I gather some info before I actually send my applications for the match?
