i have been workinh on online q bank and q vignettes.

all the kaplan online iss as follows

Q REVIEW: 77%
AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
AM A BIT OF PERFECTIONIST AND AL WAYS AIMING FOR 99 BUT AM BIT NERVOUS I THINK AM LAGGING BACK A BIT HERE, PLEASE ADVICE

Over all the marks are decent......but since you said you're a perfectionist I'm sure you're not happy.Do realise that USMLE marks will be higher in comparison to these exams.
Yes you're on the right track.How far off is your stipulated date of exam?

remember, NBME test is the best to correlate your score with the real test. If you haven't taken it yet, now would be a good time to do it. In general, getting 70+% in Kaplan questions means you should do quite well in the real test.

Yes,I gave the exam just yesterday......first of all don't waste your time reading the explanations on Qbank.....the Qbank's language and concepts tested are nothing like the exam just review(if can afford the time)the ones you worng and why.If you're reading Kaplan then the end of chapter questions are better.The concepts are very basic on the exam so don't worry.Also people say they get regulatory enzymes on their exams....I didn;t get anything like that it was some general stuff.Also on my exam the anatomy portion was 50%general anatomy and 50%neuroanatomy....so don't laev out genral anatomy.....first aid is inadequate for General anatomy.
For micro. just know which are the DNA,RNA positive sense and RNA negative sense......they don;t test which a group a certain is in eg.CMV is a herpes virus with envelope and what shape or whather is has etc...Instead you need to know CMV is a DNA virus.
People say they get Q on AIDS/HIV....for me they had Q on retrovirus(which is non-HIV but in general just a retrovirus).
Pathology...irrespective of your source...First Aid/BRS/Kaplan I think is adequate.Physiology same thing but I feel kaplan acid-base is better in this aspect.
Pharmacology....first Aid is adequate.
Immunology....depends.....I don;t really like Kaplan's outline but I had no option but to read it.First Aid is inadequate.
Genetics......more than adequate in Kaplan.
Embroyology.....Kaplan is adequate.......make sure you know you're ecto-/endo/mesoderms......they have quite a few 'experiment' type questions to test you on this aspect.eg.A researcher injects a dye in a certain type of stem cells and later he sees the stain in which structure
As for neurology......I didn;t get those weird brain stem lesions like lateral pons/medial pons lesions .....but then you see at some time you have to read it as this concept can/may be tested in step 2 or at a level after that.
Have you done your USMLE CDs??Study the topics/concepts in the questions and answers of USMLE CD.
All the best......study hard.....the last set of revision is the most important so make sure you go through your materials.Its not humanly to remember 100%
and even if it is its not humanly possible to answer 100% of the questions ecspecially when you're racing against time.So stick to your basics and try to answer questions from your basics(i think you may have realised this after doing the USMLE CD where certain tough questions can easily be answered with a basic approach).

it's true. They don't tend to ask super hard questions, although they will ask the basic ones in a really strange and convoluted way.
