Can somebody, please, explain clearly what this wobble hypothesis in the codon recognition is about? Lippincott is not very clear about it :?

i think this prob better in the biochem forum but I understand it as this. the code is degenerate(?), i.e. there are many codons that code for the same Amino Acid. i.e. --> (making these codons up). that AGU and AGA could both code for Valine. Wobble hypothesis is saying that only the first 2 must match up correctly. basically for the correct AA to put in there, a tRNA with the anti-codon to AG will have to be met. The 3rd one could be right or wrong, chances are it'll still end up sticking the right AA into the protein. so basically, you don't have to exactly match up all 3 codons in translation, just the first 2. there is room for variance in the 3rd position, for whatever it reason.
