You have to apply for the ophthalmology position and prelim position in the same year, bz ophtalmology give you residency in one year( if you apply now, you will start you ophth residency in 2006, not 2005) Do you know that it is a really hard field to get into? I am trying to do it, and the more I find out about it, the more impossible it looks to me... Don't want to discarige you, but just warning. You HAVE to have US clinical experience (with good US LORs) and good scores, because most of that programs have cutting edge and if your scores are below they will not even look at your application, regardless how exceptional you are.. Well, if you want to discuss it more write to bouncingfox@hotmail.com I will be glad to tell you what I know...
