What is unique about Mycoplasmas cell wall?

They have this great beautiful missing cell wall.

just checking if we're still awake, huh mjl.

about their cell membrane there's something unique though.. only bacteria that has cholesterol in the cell membrane...

Yes, attaches to resp. epithelium by P1 protein
2)inhibits ciliary action. 3)produces H2O2,superoide radicals and cytolytic enzymes.
mdwannabe this is ironic* the above causes necrosis to resp. epithelium but its a DRY HACKING cough and even some pts know the term "walking pneumonia" (little sputum is produced)

For Mycoplasma and Chlamydia trachomatis my pneumonic is TE for Tetracycline category or Erythromycin category. Not necessarily in this order. We both know Emycin is the drug of 1st choice. smiling face
