Thanks for the founders of this site for helping me get through my test. Although I'm not sure w/ my score yet I'll share my exam experience to all of you now that it's still fresh from my "tired & sleepy" mind. I'm getting over it I'm just happy that I took my exam already & God help me Ill be much happier if i'll pass this test. In general the test is doable, the word I have learned from this site, since I found out this very helpful site 2 mos. before my exam. At that time I still found out some recommendations, tons of 'em of what books to read. Then I shyly joined the brand new step 2 team w/ the ever supportive members like elm, sar, tasneem, son64, & everyone whose pet names I could not remember. The test was hard for me & I'm just so good in being a very positive person most of the time that I just feel soooo happy it's over. May God help me & everyone here who have a very good intention in helping not only our own family but other people as well. I'll try my best to give you an idea of how the test was given. There were a lot of OB GYN & PEDS. QUESTIONS & these were the subjects I was not able to reread. There's not that much of Surgery also, Thanks God again bec. I was not able to reread that subject again. For OB GYN, questions were mostly on prenatal care(1st to 3rd trims), hematologic changes of preg.,gest. DM (mat. & fetal complics.), PIH. Grp. B Strep Inf., what tx. to give to Mom, I vividly remember 2 FHR tracings, Accelerations(there's a good tracing in Boards & Wards, exactly like it), RhoGam admin. Mgt. of labor,Abortion,Ectopic Pregnancy, Placenta Previa ( there were 3 questions on this), For GYN, contraception, Vaginitis(know the microscopic findings of Candida,Trichomonas,Gardnerella) & their Tx.,Hirsutism, menopause, breast CA,infertility, urinary incontinence(gosh there were confusing q's so stdy it by hrt.), cancer fr. vulva to endometrium For IM I'll try to think of the topics that came out so u'll study it hoping that it will come out again when u take ur test. Cardiology: Htensive ER,didn't have ekg tracing on my test, Surprisingly!, oops wait i think there'ss 1 bradyarrythmia tracing , 2nd deg heart block,Cardiomyopathy,MVP & all the valve dses. Mostly the questions were valvular dses. & the types of Cardiomyopathy. Pulmonary, I had 2 ABG q's my LA MUD PIE code worked, COPD & ASTHMA Dx & mgt, PE, Pulm. HTN,RT Cancers,TB Dx & Tx, know the s/e of the tb drugs, Pnemonia:its MCC, had 2-3 xrays q's & can't figure out since they don't give a clue fr. the stem q so be a plain radiologist! GI, GERD, Gastritis,, GU vs DU,Ascending cholangitis, hemolytic anemias,HepA-E, nephrology: ARF, drug induced kidney dse, SIADH(know this by heart), nephrotic syndrome,HSP(I'm confident i had 3-4 of thse), know the UA findings in kidney dses, & RAS Endocrinology:the evr pop. DM,cushing's,hyper vs hypo, osteoporosis, osteomyelitis, mult. myeloma,, SLE,RA,AS tx, & Gout. Hematology; side effect of ALL chemo drugs, the ever controversial folicacid, Vit B12 def. qs., abt 3 q's, thrombocytopenias, esp ITP & TTP/HUS(schistocytes?), leukocytosis, leukopenias Surgery not much I only remeber q's on hydration of surgical pts., electrolyte disorders, acute abdomen(GW,stab wnd mgt) & preoperative care. strangulated hernia, ascending cholangitis, pancreatic peudocyst Psychiatry, lots of q's about pt-phy relationships, bipolar, panic, ocd, major depression, schizo, bereavement, grief, dementia, rape deramtology: TEN, scabies, acne mgt, side effects of acne mgt,. ophthalmology: defects in visual fields Okay i hope this would make you study more & study happily. for the meantime I 'll pray for my upcoming results. GOOD LUCK everyone. 8) be cool....
