ABSOLUTELY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Most renal masses r simple cysts , the incidence of which is estimated to be atleast 50% in pts. aged 50 yrs or older. US findings consistent with a simple cyst is an adequate evaluation. The diagnostic w/u shud proceed further only if the cyst contains internal echoes or is of an indeterminate type sonographically.....in which case a CT scan shud be done. If the nature of the mass is still indeterminate after CT scan, Percutaneous puncture of cyst is recommended. Clear yellow fluid that is negative on cytology supports the diagnosis of a simple cyst. Angiography is no longer used for diagnostic purposes but sometimes useful before the surgery. IVP is a screening procedure , but it is not used for evaluation of an already defined cyst or mass. Cysts identified by IVP shud be examined furtther by USG. So, all of u did gooood!!!!!!!!!
