clavicle frature will cause elevation of the proximal fragment with depression and subluxation (underriding) of the distal fragment. traction by which of the following muscles causes subluxation (the distal fragment underrides the proximal fragment)?

a. deltoid muscle
b. pectoralis major muscle

answer?

high yield anatomy says it is a but one question from pretest says it is b. so i am very confused now. it is anatomy, it should only have one answer. anyone good at anatomy?

It's a joint effort from a whole lot of muscles including the above mentioned two as major forces. smiling face smiling face

Pec attaches to medial part, Deltoid to lateral...both pull down...in Fx medal part goes up...so no pec help on that side..only SCM that pulls it up. Lat part goes down under weight of the arm and pull of Deltoid.
So there is only one answer... DELTOID.
