Why does Hypercalcemia cause an increase in Mg2+ excretion? I know it has to do with magnesium and calcium both competing for reabsorption in the thick ascending limb. But I don't understand that specific relationship. I thought Hypercalcemia would cause increased magnesium excretion and decreased calcium reabsorption.
